Les Molunes
Artist-run Residency in the Jura Mountain.
Les Molunes is an artist-run residency based in a typical jurassien house from 1808.
It is a rustic context in which artists are invited to come develop their practice through a new angle.
The presence of neither internet nor cell-connexion and a framed access to electricity pushes residents to rethink the relationship they sustain with modern means of creation.
Les Molunes is inherently a collective environment, in which its inhabitants have to coexist and collaborate in their daily lives.
It also hosts punctual artistic events such as performances, exhibitions and workshops, as well as a library, and plays the role of archives to the residents’s works and researches.
Les Molunes is a work-in-progress, evolving organically as it is being shaped by its inhabitants.
It is an experimentation with different ways to relate to a space that holds a community, to self-organise amongst eclectic humans coming together on common grounds.
